As they look to fully close down operations and finally go out of business, Manor the now defunct British-based Formula One team, will by next month, auction off more than 4,000 of their redundant parts.

It was in January that the team which operated out of Banbury in Oxfordshireand employed 200 staff ceased trading and operations.

Before that, the team had hope that a new investment would have been found ahead of the new season. However, after the team’s operating company, Just Racing Services closed its doors, the employees of Manor were made redundant.

Some of the parts to be auctioned off includesa rolling chassis, steering wheel, front and rear wings, pit-lane equipment, and a few other parts.

All these would be made available during a four-day auction in May to the public.

Back in 2010, the team had started its journey in Formula One with the name Virgin Racing. They were given backing by Sir Richard Branson, a British billionaire. Its name was later changed to Marussia.

The team’s first points were scored at the 2014 Monaco Grand Prix when Frenchman, Jules Bianchi, who suffered an ultimately fatal crash later that year in Japan, finished ninth.

Bianchi drove for Manor during the period the team bore the name Marussia. At the end of 2014, AndreyCheglakov, its Russian owner ended his association with the team which left them facing an exit from the sport.

However, they were rescued by Sean Fitzpatrick, a British businessman and then went on to compete under the name, Manor.

For the two ensuing seasons, Manor spent them as back markers before scoring only one point to finish last in the most recent constructors championship

With their departure from the grid, the number of teams competing this year is down to just 10 teams.
